About, Hilary.

Another clumsy creative who’s obsessed with her dog.

I’ve always been obsessed with words. Reading words, writing words, speaking words (ask my fiance, I can talk… A LOT). Finding the perfect words to string together to bring the ideas, experiences, dreams, to life.

I consume stories. My parents described me as a voracious reader. My mom would drop me off at the bookstore after school and pick me up a couple of hours later after I finished the next book. (Sorry Books-A-Million!)

While my Good Reads profile stays up to date I’ve recently started writing again. Follow along as I begin to string words together to build new worlds.

What do I do?

Day Job

I love my day job. As a Project Manager for a sports technology company I am consistently challenged. In my (almost) 5 year tenure I’ve focused mostly within the development & support space. Specializing in complex cross functional projects, I thrive in an environment that promotes critical thinking and problem solving.

Creative Writing

I graduated the Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and minors in Communication and Education. More than once I heard “What the hell are you going to do with a Creative Writing degree?!” Well, whatever I damn well please. Going into college I knew that I would be funding the endeavor. I refused to go into debt taking classes I didn’t enjoy.

Weekend Warrior

One of the best parts about my day job? I work remotely! While I miss the day to day interactions within an office setting, the freedom this gives me is irreplaceable. So M – F I work 7 – 3 and outside those hours I am… outside. Day trips, weekend trips, road trips? I’m down for all the trips!

Equestrian Sports

Horses have been a part of my life since before I can remember. I started out a lesson kid and I competed throughout high school. I worked at show barns from 11 to 21. While horses took a backseat as I jump started my corporate career, I’ve recently taken the leap to *literally* get back in the saddle. More to come!

Let’s write something together.
